It allows rescue workers, police, or medical personnel to easily get in touch with the people you want contacted in the event of an accident or other emergency situations. Rescue workers look for family members in a cell phone. But how do they know who the family members are if the last name is different from yours? Got your cell phone handy? Take the time (it only takes a moment) and put the letters "ICE" next to the name(s) of the people you want contacted in the event of an emergency. It will save valuable time.
